Washington, MO,July 20, 2015 – Sporlan Division of Parker Hannifin Corporation, the global leader in motion and control technologies, was recognized for excellence in product designin the 12th annual Dealer Design Awards Program sponsored by The Air Conditioning Heating & Refrigeration News magazine. An independent panel of contractors acted as judges in the contest that had 107 entries. The company’s SMART Service Tool Kit was the Bronze Award Winner in the Electronic Tools category. The ACHR News is the leading trade magazine in the heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration industries.

News Publisher Mike Murphy stated, “These awards give us a unique opportunity to recognize the outstanding research and development efforts that go into many of the products serving the HVACR industry and the awards issue gives our readers an opportunity to read about innovative installation and service solutions.”

“The SMART Service Tool Kit includes the only wire-free sensors available in the HVAC/R industry,” said Matt Wehmeyer, product manager. “The sensors achieve an Ingress Protection rating of IP-65, which allows them to be used in the rain and dirty environments. This feature, along with the long battery life and robust designs are what sets the sensors apart from the competition.”

“The sensors from the SMART Service Tool Kit can be easily attached to the refrigeration or AC unit. Once the app is activated, the pressures and temperatures will be displayed right on your smart phone or tablet. The app also calculates superheat and subcooling, records and stores the data in a .csv file, and quickly prepares an email to send your data to anyone. It’s that simple,” said Wehmeyer. “We are happy to be recognized as a leader in the Electronic Tools category and as we continue to enhance the product, we are sure that contractors will want to add this to their toolbox.”

Winning entries in the Dealer Design Awards were featured in the July 20, 2015 issue of The ACHR News, which is distributed nationally to over 33,000 HVACR contractors, wholesalers, and other industry professionals. For more information and further coverage, visit www.achrnews.com.
