Electronic Controls
Electric Valves
In current designs, the electronics controlling the valve are separate from the valve itself. The correct term to describe the valves is therefore electronically controlled electric valves. Since electric valves are assigned their function in the system by the software in their controller, an electric valve can be used anywhere in the system; as an expansion valve, discharge gas bypass valve, evaporator control valve, heat reclaim valve, head pressure control valve or crankcase pressure control valve.

Controller Packages
The Sporlan Subcool Control is a simple means of controlling the Electronic Expansion Valve (EEV) on most liquid subcooling systems. The Subcool Control provides liquid temperature and superheat (pressure-temperature) control for most common refrigerants. It displays actual leaving liquid temperature, superheat, suction pressure, valve position, controller status, and alarms. It also allows manual control of the valve position.

Control Boards
The Sporlan Cold Room Control (CRC) is a microprocessor-based system designed to precisely control refrigeration evaporators in walk-in coolers and freezers. It accurately controls refrigerant flow and provides a single point of reference for all control components. By monitoring pressure and temperatures, the CRC controls evaporator temperature more accurately and consistently than mechanical thermostatic expansion valves. In addition to superheat and room temperature control, the CRC is configured to control evaporator fans, the liquid line solenoid, defrost heaters, and defrost schedules. Valves and sensors may be purchased from Sporlan.

Components and Accessories
The IB-G (interface board-global) has been developed to offer a highly configurable interface board that can accept 4-20 milliamp or 0-10 volt DC analog input signals. The IB-G will replace all of the obsolete legacy IB’s (IB1, IB2, IB3, IB6, and IB-ESX). The IB-G is designed to allow externally supplied control signals to control one or two Sporlan step motor valves including CDS evaporator control valves, SDR electric discharge bypass valves and SEI/SER/SEH electric expansion valves.
The LLS (Liquid Level Sensor) is an analog sensor that provides a way to monitor refrigerant levels in commercial A/C & R systems. Sporlan also offers temperature sensors and pressure transducers as inputs to our controller packages and control boards listed above.
